LOCKED INBY THE WORK SOCIAL CLUB

Focused work

Why your real work keeps starting after the meetings end

Online meetings make collaboration possible across locations. They can also divide the day into pieces too small for writing, analysis or other demanding work.

Notice what the calendar is excluding

Where is the proposal being written, the application being finished or the problem being solved? If the answer is ‘afterwards’, the work has not been planned.

Group calls where you can

When you control the timing, place meetings near each other. A longer open block is easier to use than several short gaps.

Capture decisions once

Write the purpose before each meeting and record the next actions before leaving it. This reduces time spent reopening the same discussion.

Give concentrated work a location

A quieter room, a coworking desk or an online focus session can mark the point when conversation stops and production begins.

Meetings are part of work. They should not consume every hour in which the rest of the work could happen.

Give one important task a clear place outside the meeting cycle. View LOCKED IN’s Birmingham and online focus options at twosc.xyz.
